ZETA Analog Addressable Fire Detection Systems

What is an Analog Addressable Fire Detection System?

Fire detection systems can be divided into two groups: conventional and addressable. Faults and fire alarms are determined point wise in addressable systems and zone wise in conventional ones.

All detectors, manual call points and modules can be addressable point devices in addressable fire detection systems. Compared to conventional system, this is a very important feature to quickly respond a fire event.

Addressable detector and call points have electronic software addressing feature in order to prevent any confusion during device replacement.

In analog addressable fire detection systems, detectors are both addressable and have analog sensors inside. They detect smoke density and heat levels in the environment and send analog values to fire control panel. Analog addressable control panel compares these values with software algorhytms and decides whether it’s a fire or not. In order to minimize false alarms, analog addressable systems which have these software algorhytms must be selected since false alarms reduce system reliability and cause a risk of not being taken noticed of in a real fire situation. Thus this feature is a huge advantage if present in the fire detection system.

Analog addressable fire control panel also acts as a system administrator by analyzing data received from site. Fire control panel, thanks to its programmable structure, can activate fire alarm scenario and alarm outputs in the building. This way, general safety inside the building can be achieved widely and flexibly.

In analog addressable fire detection systems, detection lines (loop) of the detectors are generally Class A type, which means the loop cable which starts from the control panel also returns to it in the end. This provides a redundancy in which all field devices will continue working on a single cable breakage.
